Connect With Us

Our commitment to ministry is the lifeblood of our discipleship in Jesus Christ. Learn more about what we are doing at the Covenant Church of Thomaston and how you can connect. If you have any question, just ask one of our pastors or e-mail the church office.

Children's Ministry

Sunday School is offered weekly, Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. for pre-K through grade 6. We have trained teachers who love children, God’s Word, and sharing the stories.

Pathfinders, for children in grades 1 through 3, meets monthly for fun, service projects, and learning about God’s Word and how to apply it. The leaders are Brenda Tousignant and Lori Vigeant.

Trailblazers, for grades 4, 5, and 6, meets monthly for fun, crafts, Bible lessons and learning how to live for Jesus Christ.

Vacation Bible School is one of our biggest ministries each summer. Through drama, singing, crafts, snacks, mission, games, crafts and Bible lesson time the kids are taken on an adventure discovering God’s love and salvation through Jesus, his one and only son.

Camp Squanto is where our children and youth go for a week of camp each summer. Great counselors, cabins, setting on a lake, meals, games, and Bible lessons about being a follower of Christ! There is also a half week program for the youngest campers. Check out the summer schedule at pilgrimpines.org. Several of families and individuals go the family camp each summer as well.

Youth Ministry

CHYG (Covenant High Youth Group), for high school youth, meets usually on Sunday afternoons, 4:00-6:00. We have great games, treats, friendships, and disciple-making discussions around life issues and living for Jesus. CHYG is led by Beth Campbell, Sue Sundell, and Gina Whaley.

D/C (Discipleship/Confirmation) for Grades 7 and 8, meets weekly during the school year. This youth group also serves as a two-year Confirmation class, with games and fun as well as lessons on the church and biblical truth. The leaders are Pastor Stephanie Nelson, Jessica Bedosky, and Glenn Hafele.

Women's Ministry

For women of all ages. We hold regular activities for fellowship, special speakers, crafts, book club, or mission opportunities. We have regular Bible studies during the week throughout the school year. We enjoy a yearly women’s retreat at Pilgrim Pines, host graduation suppers and showers, and help with funeral meals.

Senior Ministry

The 39ers is for retirees and anyone who would like to join in Bible study and fellowship. The 39ers meet in the Fellowship Room on Monday mornings, 10:45 a.m. when school is in session (no meeting if schools are not in session). One of the group’s members leads the study.

Guatemala Playground Project

Several members of the church are involved with obtaining, loading, storing, and transporting used municipal playgrounds for export to Christian ministries throughout Guatemala.

Used playgrounds and swing sets are donated by municipalities in Connecticut and stored in a 40-foot sea container in Thomaston prior to shipping to Puerto San Tomas in Guatemala. The container then is trucked to a ministry site for distribution. Ministries share in the pro-rata costs of shipping and customs. Ministries in Guatemala then reinstall the playgrounds for their “new life” in Central America.

Each sea container holds four to six playgrounds, which will be enjoyed by an average of more than 150 children per playground.

You do not need to be a member of the church to become involved. Email the church (covenantchurch@covchurchthomaston.org) and a member of the Playground Project will contact you with details!
